Finished Playroom

When we built the house, the builder wanted upwards of $4000 to finish this room, Sam said, "yeah right I can do it for half and customize it", so he did! I am continually impressed by his handy work. He may not move as fast as a contractor, but I have to say this is the one of the nicest rooms in our house and the kids love it. I think that the final total was $1800, so I think he came in under his orginal quote.
I wanted it to be a playroom that was gender neutral (mainly cause I live in this false hope that we will one day have a girl) I chose a beach theme. One piece of advice, when trying out stripes for the first time, don't choose such a big room to tackle. It took me about 6 hours to tape them off and make them look just right, needless to say, I appreciate them everytime I enter the room. The pictures don't do the colors justice, they are a lot brighter in person. I spent roughly $150 on the decor, that is including paint. I have to say it was one of the funnest rooms I have ever decorated!
